Product Description

Barrier Alert Company is a manufacturer of self adhesive road marking tape for fast peel-and-stick pavement marking on clean asphalt and concrete. This pressure-sensitive pavement marking tape comes in rolls with a peel-off liner, so road, yard, parking, and facility lines can be installed without melting equipment, paint drying time, or long site shutdowns. For stable bonding, the pavement should be dry, firm, and well pressed after application, with 24-72 hour edge observation recommended in turning areas, ramps, and other high-stress positions.

Applications

  1. Parking bay lines, stall separation, directional arrows, and entry guides where fast reopening is needed
  2. Yard traffic lanes for logistics parks, plants, depots, container areas, and outdoor facility routes
  3. Temporary traffic diversion lines during maintenance, event routing, road layout changes, or short-term traffic control
  4. Facility pavement marking for outdoor walkways, low-speed vehicle lanes, and equipment separation areas
  5. Loading dock lanes, forklift travel paths, and warehouse exterior pavement where 24-72 hour edge lift observation is recommended
  6. Short road guidance lines where fast installation, clean surface contact, and possible later removal matter
  7. Color-coded asphalt and concrete line marking for parking guidance, yard traffic separation, and controlled work areas

When should reflective or non-reflective self adhesive road marking tape be selected?

Reflective tape is the better choice for road edges, parking entrances, yard traffic routes, temporary lane guidance, and places where drivers need clearer direction at night or in low light. A bead-coated or textured surface makes the line easier to notice near loading lanes, access roads, and parking entry points. Non-reflective tape is practical for daytime facility lanes, equipment zones, low-speed parking layout, and internal yard separation where simple color contrast is enough. For turning positions, ramps, or braking areas, both reflective and non-reflective samples should be checked for edge lift after 24-72 hours under real site traffic.

Product Overview

Self adhesive road marking tape is made for sites where lines need to go down quickly and stay clear without waiting for road marking paint to cure or arranging heat-applied thermoplastic work. The tape uses a flexible marking film, a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, and a removable liner. During installation, the liner is peeled back gradually, the tape is placed without stretching, and firm pressure is applied so the adhesive can make full contact with the pavement texture. As a typical reference, clean dry asphalt or concrete can reach about 8-18 N/25 mm 180 degree peel adhesion after correct pressing and dwell observation.

This is not barricade ribbon, warning tape, or generic indoor floor marking tape. It is an adhesive-backed pavement line material for asphalt and concrete line marking where vehicles, pedestrians, pallet traffic, or facility traffic need clear guidance. The surface should be clean, dry, oil-free, and free from loose stone, weak old coating, cement dust, standing water, or broken pavement particles. Wet, oily, loose, broken, or uncured pavement can reduce adhesive contact and may cause early edge lifting.

For parking lot striping tape rolls, lane direction lines, loading bay guides, temporary work-zone routes, and plant road separation, the grade should be matched to traffic load, surface condition, and removal needs. Temporary grades work well for short-term layout, event routing, test lines, or construction changes. Semi-permanent grades are better for facility pavement marking, parking bay lines, and yard traffic routes where longer wear is expected. On turning areas, ramps, loading zones, old markings, or rough concrete, a 1-2 m strip test is recommended before full installation.

Benefits

  1. Fast peel-and-stick work: The roll can be measured, cut, peeled, placed, and pressed without torching, spray marking, or long drying time.
  2. Reliable adhesive contact: The adhesive layer is typically 120-220 um and performs best on dry, firm pavement after roller, tire, or tamping pressure.
  3. Straighter line layout: Chalk lines, laser guides, or pre-measured marks help keep long parking, yard, and road lines aligned before the liner is removed.
  4. Reflective or non-reflective choice: Reflective bead surface supports night guidance, while non-reflective color surface is suitable for daytime facility zones and low-speed yard routes.
  5. Temporary and semi-permanent grades: Removable grades suit short projects and layout changes; stronger grades support longer parking and yard marking needs.
  6. Roll conversion support: Width tolerance can be controlled around +/- 1.0 mm for standard slit rolls, while length, color, core size, winding direction, liner release, and packing can be adjusted for project use.

How should asphalt and concrete be prepared before applying self adhesive road marking tape?

Surface preparation often decides whether the tape bonds to the pavement or only sticks to dust, loose grit, oil, or weak coating. Before application, asphalt or concrete should be swept, blown, cleaned, and fully dried. Oil, grease, mud, standing water, loose paint, broken sealcoat, cement dust, and unstable particles must be removed. If the surface is washed, allow it to dry completely before peeling the liner. During installation, place the tape without stretching, press from the center toward both edges, then use a hand roller, rubber tire, or tamping tool to improve adhesive contact. Curved lines, old markings, rough concrete, ramps, and turning-wheel areas should be tested first with a 1-2 m strip before full installation.

FAQ

Can this tape be used on both asphalt and concrete?

Yes. It can be used on clean, dry, stable asphalt and concrete. Dusty, wet, oily, loose, or broken surfaces should be corrected before application.

Is this heat-applied thermoplastic tape?

No. It is a peel-and-stick tape with pressure-sensitive adhesive and a removable liner. Normal installation does not require melting.

Which grade is better for parking lots?

Semi-permanent grade is usually better for parking bays and yard routes with repeated traffic. Temporary grade is better for short-term layout or removable lines.

Can the rolls be converted to project sizes?

Yes. Width, length, color, reflective surface, non-reflective surface, core size, liner type, and packing can be adjusted for project requirements.
